June will be a sensorial month, we will dedicate ourselves to do fun activities where we will stimulate our five senses and with them we will learn the different types of food and get to know the food pyramid. We will paint with our feet, belly,  hands and get messy with pudding and jello so this is why some days I will go home a little dirty but very happy!

I need to bring inside my backpack a change of clothes (labeled) and an extra diaper everyday, so I can get dirty without worrying.

We will also do many fun experiments to understand the sense of taste or smell.

We will go over the parts of our face and we will see that the mouth is in charge of letting the food inside our bodies, the tongue is responsible for tasting and tell us their flavor and if we like them or not. Our teeth are our friends and are responsible for biting and chewing the food so we can swallow it.

We will also learn that through our mouth we can let bacteria in our bodies that can make us sick so we will practice washing hands and singing while we wash them to make sure that there is enough time to be clean , the teacher will teach us how sneeze covering our mouths so we do not bother our friends.

We will play to identify different tastes: sweet, sour, bitter and salty tasting everyday many foods , we will also smell other things and identify the ones we like and the ones we don’t.

While we eat snack we will talk about healthy foods that makes us grow and be strong and the junk food that we are not supposed to eat very often.

The teacher will teach us how to chew with our mouth closed, to put the garbage in the trash and to clean our mouth with a napkin and at the end she will congratulate because we will eat showing good manners.

Rhyme of the month

Betty Botter bought some butter
But she said the butter’s bitter
If I put it in my batter, it will make my batter bitter
But a bit of better butter will make my batter better
So ‘twas better Betty Botter bought a bit of better butter

Joy gives us wings! When you appreciate the many possibilities that each day brings, you will naturally show joyfulness.
